Lately, we’ve been writing about guns and gear that are important to own before any type of federal ban by the President is issued. Although I think it’s important to own certain guns before a ban, it’s equally important to know how to be self-reliant. As the old saying goes, “Give a man a fish, and you’ll feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you’ve fed him for a lifetime". Frankford Arsenal may not be Confucius, but they can provide you with all the equipment you need to reload your own ammo for the rest of your life. This blog should serve as a guide to understanding everything Frankford Arsenal can do for you.
Who is Frankford Arsenal? Reloading 101
What Does Frankford Arsenal Sell?
Frankford Arsenal focuses its attention and effort on providing the best and most precise ammo reloading equipment and gear. Use this table below to quickly find what you’re looking for. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or a rookie, Frankford Arsenal has the right equipment for the job.
Ammo Boxes & Trays | Ammo boxes are often overlooked with the other expenses when reloading your own ammo. However, buying the proper boxes will ensure your ammo stays dry, clean, and safe from any damage to the case. Frankford Arsenal sells both reloading trays in multiple sizes and multiple ammo boxes with a count of 50-100 rounds. |
Case Cleaning | One thing people who don’t shoot a lot know about is how dirty the casings can get from the oil and carbon from the combustion. I prefer the stainless steel media, but my brother-in-law swears by the walnut media. I think the steel cleans better, but he thinks the wood absorbs more grit and oil and is easier to remove and prepare for polish. I like how easy the clean-up is with the steel versus the wood or corn cob because it doesn’t create a bunch of dust that just sits in the air and all over your clothes and equipment. After every individual brass is put through your choice of media, you’ll want to use a tumbler to separate the media from the brass. I prefer to use the Wet/Dry Media Separator because it’s very easy to use and does a hell of a job preparing my brass for polish. Once you’ve separated the media from the brass, you’ll need to polish the brass to ensure there is no residue or blemishes on the case. This ensures that it remains smooth and doesn’t obstruct your barrel in any way.

Case Preparation | Part of preparing each case is the trimming process. If you don’t have the right equipment and try to trim, you could severely damage your barrel and gun. The Frankford Arsenal trimmers allow you to ensure there are no sharp points around the case. After your case is trimmed to the correct size, you’ll need to deburr any of the metal that looks like it’s out of place. The last thing you want is a burr that cuts a hole into your barrel rifling. You’d have to replace the barrel on your gun and risk serious injury if these steps are taken. As every shooter knows, the casing has to have a primer set for the firing pin to strike and cause the explosion and sends the round downrange. You can get your primer machines here for an affordable price. Anytime you’re loading your own ammo, you’ll need a deprimer as well. For example, if you think a bullet is a dud or something looks wrong, you can deprime the bullet to ensure it cant be fired out of a gun. |
Reloading Tools | This is the section that separates Frankford Arsenal from its competition. The reloading tools found here will give you everything you need to start your own reloading. Starting with the powder measuring, scales, and tools. Every reloaded brass has to have the exact amount of gun powder to stay safe and ensure that round has the power to get to the target. The reloading press is one of the most instrumental tools you need for reloading your own ammo. The M-Press Coaxial Reloading press is perfect for us at home because it allows for the reload of everything from a .17 Remington through a .338 Lapua magnum. It works great for all of my guns (9mm, 7mm Rem Mag, 30-06, and .45 ACP). |
Arsenal | The Arsenal is the go-to spot to learn how to use all this equipment. Learning to reload my own ammo was incredibly stressful for me and I was always worried about a bullet blowing up in my gun and splattering my face into oblivion. The Arsenal will ensure that you learn how to use everything the right way so you don’t live with the same anxiety as I did when I learned how to reload. You’ll first learn how to inspect and store your ammo for maintaining the best quality bullet. Learning how to inspect cases and determine which cases are suitable for reloading and which ones are not, is incredibly important. The Inspecting Cases page in the Arsenal will teach you which cases can be reloaded, which cases are too damaged to reload, and what to look for in a case before attempting a reload. This invaluable information is free and highly encouraged for beginners, like myself. The Loading Data page is created to give us customers a better understanding of the data related to powder, weight, length, and overall size of the bullet. There is so much good info on the Arsenal page that it would be a disservice to not read through and watch all their videos before venturing out on your own. |
Why Should You Choose Frankford Arsenal?
I buy from Frankford Arsenal because they don’t just sell reloading tools and equipment like most other companies; reloading is their sole focus. When I buy reloading tools and equipment from Frankford Arsenal, I understand that I’m getting some of the best equipment on the market for the most affordable price. There are cheaper reloading tools online that is easy to find, but it won’t match up to the quality of what Frankford Arsenal produces. I choose Frankford because they give me the information I need and the equipment I need without charging me an arm and a leg for it. Good Luck!
