We get it; depending on where you live, there’s not much to do. Some places have restaurants, schools, churches, and anything that’s not open/outdoor space shut down. You can’t travel out of the country, and if you’re thinking about going to HI, you have to prove you don’t have covid do the whole vacation thing, which means you might be under quarantine for a while, using up most if not all of your off-time not having fun. How about we don’t do that.

Instead, pack up the family and head to Las Vegas. Yeah, I know vegas and family usually don’t mesh together all that well. But, along with your family, you should be packing up your range bag too. Why? Because they have some pretty great ranges (that are actually open to the public), you should be checking out if you haven’t already.

We’ve covered a couple of ranges with some cool packages, like those that let you pretend you’re a sniper. But here’s one for you, a range that lets you shoot a tank! Yes, you read that correctly, you can crawl into a tank and shoot! What range is this? Well, if you somehow managed to miss the title, it’s Battlefield Vegas. This blog is going to cover the packages they offer!

Shooting

Battlefield Vegas Shooting Range

If you’re on vacation, chances are, you want to do something new, different, exciting, or you just want to relax. And no matter which category you fall into, going to battlefield vegas can off all of the above. Who doesn’t find shooting relaxing? Probably the people not reading about this range.

HUMVEE Pick-up

What’s cool about this particular range, besides all the different shooting packages you won’t find at your home range (unless, of course, you live in vegas), is that they pick you up in style. And by style, I mean a HUMVEE pick-up. Not only will they come to pick you up from your downtown hotel/Fremon or the Las Vegas Strip, but they’ll pick you up and drop you off at your next vacay spot on the Strip or Fremont for FREE! Yes, free. A complimentary pick-up in a HUMVEE from any of those locations. All they ask is that you book your pick-up at least two hours in advance of when you’re planning to shoot. So, if you want to get behind a gun at 2, be so kind as to book no later than noon.

Yes, you can bring your child. However, let them know as there are some restrictions. In Nevada, there are child restraint laws for vehicles, which Battlefield Vegas adheres to. And if you have a child under the age of 6, they can’t ride in the HUMVEE. Also, they have to be 60 lbs at least. So, if they’re a 55 lb 7-year-old, they can’t ride in the HUMVEE either.

Alright, so getting to ride in a HUMVEE, for those of you who’ve never experienced it, can be pretty cool. But, you’re here to shoot. And trust me, there’s no shortage of shooting packages.

Outdoor Adventures

Have you ever wanted to shoot a flamethrower? Yeah, me too. Well, at Battlefield Vegas, you can shoot the M9 Flamethrower. Other outdoor packages include Basic Training, Modern Warfare, Ground War, Air and Ground Assault, M114 Howitzer: 155MM Artillery, Axis and Allies, and the 81mm Mortar experience.

Crush a Car with a Tank

Since we’re talking about outdoor shooting adventures, one of the things that makes Battlefield Vegas different from other package deal ranges on the strip is their outdoor experiences. You actually get the option of driving over a car in a tank. So, first, you get picked up in a HUMVEE, and then you get to drive over a vehicle in a tank! Now that’s something worth experiencing, a REAL vacation if you ask me.

If you want this package, you’ll have to book a day in advance. The range needs 24 hours so they can pick a car for your destroying pleasure.

Shooting Experiences

Now, let’s say you’re not really into crushing cars, or maybe you just don’t have that kind of money. No big deal; there’s plenty of other cool packages that won’t break the bank. You can choose to drive only or drive and shoot a tank if your heart is set on tanks. If not, other cool outdoor packages exist too.

Video Game Shooting Experience

Earlier, when I mentioned modern warfare, I know the first thing some of you thought about was Call of Duty Modern Warfare, the video game. Yes, they have a CoD package! In fact, they have several video game-inspired packages: Black Ops, Counter Strike Extreme, Modern War, Chicken Dinner, and the Siege Heavy gamer experience.

Historical Events

Alright, maybe some of you are rolling your eyes at the video game experience, “I’m grown, I don’t play video games…” Alright, we get it; you’re too old to have fun. Well, maybe historical events are more your pace. If so, there are several historical shooting packages available: D-Day 1944, Das Blitzkrieg, The Platoon, Time Soldier, Pvt Ryan, Wild Geese, Red Threat, Anzac Legends, Battle of El-Alamein, Defending Stalingrad, Rising Sun, Cold War: NATO and Warsaw Pact, Hamburger Hill, and finally, the Battle of Iwo Jima shooting experiences.

Beginner Shooting experience

Maybe shooting machine guns, tanks, and flamethrowers is a bit too much for you because you’re a beginner. If so, there are two packages you can take advantage of, particularly if you have kids.

Little Giants

The minions might be interested in the Little Giants package, which lets you shoot the Sig Mosquito, Walther P-22, MPI-69, and M-16. This particular package is specifically created for kids, as they’re only shooting .22 LR ammo.

GI Jane

There’s also a GI Jane experience, which females created for females. Of course, you can shoot whatever package you want. But this package is tailored to those who want a lighter recoil or those who’ve never shot military-style weapons. So, while it’s titled GI Jane, I’m pretty sure the fellas can sign up for this package as well. Included is the chance to shoot the Sig P-226, MP5 SD, and the M4 CQBR.

Pick Your Firearm(s)

Now, let’s say you’re boring. And by boring, I mean, you flew or drove to Vegas so that you can shoot exactly as you do back home. Fun still, but it’s not new. If that’s you, don’t worry. Battlefield Vegas also offers the option of selecting a weapon (starting at $25) and shooting. A limited number of rounds are included with each gun.

Shooting

Machine Guns and More

Personally, I’d look at shooting something not offered at your local range. If you’re into shooting machine guns, you can shoot a .50 cal, Maxim M1910, DPM, Breda Modello M-37, and a whole lot more. And if you’re really into shooting pistols, don’t stick to your standard Glock. Why not try the Mauser C-96 or the Nambu Type-14.

If you’re looking to shoot a specific weapon system and don’t want a package, you can choose between assault and battle rifles, sniper rifles, submachine guns, machine guns, pistols, grenade launchers, shotguns, and a mini-gun. Simply pick your firearm of choice, select the date you’d like to shoot, how many shooters, and the number of rounds (sometimes there’s not an option, such as with mini-guns M134).

Mini-Gun: M134

And since we’re talking about the mini-gun, you should know, the M134 is the ONLY mini-gun that’s available to shoot in Las Vegas. If you’d like your chance to shoot it, you can book for a same-day experience; book today, shoot today.

Fan-Favorites

According to what other people loved, Battlefield Vegas lists the top shooting experiences if you’re having trouble picking a package. The highest-rated is the option to crush a car while driving a tank. However, if that’s a bit out of your price range, the most popular choice is the Black Ops Gamer experience. Other fan-favorites include the SWAT, Seal Team Six, and Operator experience.

Basically, this range has it all. And if all those choices make it hard to pick, check out what everyone else likes and maybe narrow the options down a bit.

Children and the Range

As stated earlier in the article, yes, you can bring children with you. There are some rules and regulations that must be followed, though. First, anyone under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by a legal guardian. A child must be at least 10 years old to shoot (determined on a case-by-case basis). And if your child is under 14 years old, then there will be some restrictions on what they can and cannot shoot.

Again, some regulations go with the HUMVEE pick-up too. So while an 8-year-old can’t typically shoot a gun at Battlefield Vegas, they can take a trip to the range where mommy and daddy get to play with the big kid toys.
