As much as we write about guns, we’re not in denial about the fact that the government is coming for our jobs and the 2nd Amendment in general. Although we believe it’s more smoke than fire at this point, we need to start preparing ahead of time, just in case. Oftentimes, people think a gun ban is only going to affect ARs and SBRs, but that is only the beginning of these proposed bills. The government is coming after magazines, optics, semi-auto shotguns, and hollow-point bullets. This blog is about the 5 products that are available today and may not be available tomorrow. As a disclaimer, I don’t know for sure about any new law going into effect, but I do know the President is trying to get a ban passed.
ATI GSG Ruger 10.22 LR 110rd Drum
Any kind of drum magazine capable of holding 110 rounds of any caliber bullet is going to be banned with the proposed legislation. Biden’s website even refers to eliminating high-capacity magazines as one of his top priorities. Biden states he wants to, “Ban the manufacture and sale of assault weapons and high-capacity magazines" and will use executive action to prevent the importation of “assault weapons". For responsible gun owners, this drum magazine raises the level of fun while plinking from a solid 6 to 10. It’s a bummer to take that away from hard-working, responsible Americans. If you have a .22 LR and want to ensure you have the opportunity to have more fun on your range, then buy this drum magazine while you can.
Elite Tactical Systems Glock 31rd Magazine
Elite Tactical Systems produces a beautiful and durable 31-round Translucent Smoke Mag that fits the Glock 17, 18,19, 26, and Glock 34. This 31-round magazine is incredibly versatile with the compatibility with all generation Glock models (Gen 1-5). There is no way that the government is going to allow anyone to walk around with a 31-round mag in the most popular gun in the world (Glock). Elite Tactical Systems really took their time with this magazine from the beautiful smoke finish to the specially designed baseplates for an easy takedown. It’s made from a very rigid and durable polymer composite that does very well in hot, cold, and wet environments. Get yours at GritrSports for $28.00 before it’s gone for good.
JTS M12AK-T1 Shotgun
I think it’s fair to say that any gun with “AK" in the name is going to be outlawed real quick with a gun ban. Anyone who’s ever traveled or lived in Texas knows, those guys love their guns like no other. I think supporting a gun manufacturer out of the freedom-loving state of Texas is always a good thing. This semi-auto shotgun shoots 2 3/4" and 3" shells and comes with 5 different chokes to use for different missions. The M12AK-T1 is built with a chromed lined barrel for better heat dispersion and pattern consistency. The Picatinny Rail on top allows you to add any optic you have your heart set on. A 4-position gas system allows the shotgun to automatically adjust for the different loads. If you’re in the market for a new tactical shotgun for home-defense, the M12AK-T1 is a great choice.
POF Revolution AR Pistol
The Patriot Ordnance Factory (POF) AR Pistol is one of the most elegant and creative designs for an AR-style pistol that I’ve seen. Anytime you shoot a .308 Winchester (7.62mm) bullet out of an 11.5" barrel, it’s going to have a kick to it. However, the adjustable gas system, anti-tilt buffer tube, and full-size of the upper and lower receiver stabilize the gun much better than expected. Since they were able to use the same standards for an AR15 with their receivers, bolt assembly, and barrel extension, they were able to provide a much more stable platform than most other AR pistols or Short Barrel Rifles (SBRs). POF takes great pride in its work and I always try to support American-owned and operated businesses over conglomerates.
Charles Daly AR-12S
If you were looking strictly for a home-defense gun, you can’t beat the CD AR-12S chambered for 3.5" 12-gauge shells. If you’ve never shot a Charles Daly gun, you’ll notice a lot of similarities between Beretta and Benelli with the design and features. For example, the CD AR-12S uses the Modified Beretta/Benelli® Mobil Choke and incorporates a similar adjustable comb, like both Beretta and Benelli. Many people struggle with the idea of an AR-style shotgun, but they’re great for home defense and plinking on the range. For under $500, I don’t think you’ll get an opportunity to own a tactical shotgun of this quality again.
Conclusion
Many people think that if a gun ban is instituted, it will only affect the AR-style rifles, but many people would be wrong. The reason Biden uses language, such as “Assault Weapon" instead of Assault Rifle is the broader term will encompass more weapon systems. With the language he uses, this will come for all AR pistols, SBRs, AR15, AK47s, and AR-style shotguns. Any magazine that they consider to be too much will fall under these broad guidelines for the proposed bill.
It seems to me that most of us have bought the guns we need and want, but if you have your eye on any of these style guns and mags, I’d pull the trigger sooner rather than later. The large drum mags of all calibers will be gone with the first days of the bill being passed. AR pistols will be deemed too much and be banned quicker than a conservative on Twitter. Although nothing is certain, it sure looks like our government will try to change the 2nd Amendment to fit their political ideology. Good luck to all and happy hunting!
