The time has finally arrived for the ability to convert your Glock into a carbine by inserting your Glock into the frame of the KPOS Scout Conversion Kit. To be as clear as possible, this conversion kit does make your Glock a Short-Barreled Rifle (SBR). For this blog, we’ll focus on the Glock models that can be converted to the KPOS Scout and KPOS Scout Advanced carbine attachments.
As far as the legality of the conversion kit, As soon as you place your Glock into the frame of the KPOS Scout, it becomes an SBR and needs to be registered under the ATF. The KPOS Conversion Kit doesn’t alter or change your Glock in any way, it only improves the capability and functionality of the pistol. However, if you’re wanting more information on what makes an SBR versus pistol brace, read our blog, “The Difference Between an AR-15 Pistol and a Short Barrel Rifle (SBR)”.
KPOS Scout Conversion Kit
The KPOS Scout Conversion Kit is one of the coolest new technologies to enter the market in a long time. If you’re in Israel (birthplace of the company) you don’t have to worry about the federal regulations of the American government, obviously. However, if you’re an American, we have to ensure we register our weapons with the ATF if they fall into the SBR category. As with any SBR gun on the market today, you must get a federal tax stamp before you even think about converting your Glock into the KPOS Scout. If you’re wanting to understand how to register your SBR, read our blog, “Build Your First SBR, Legally”.
What is the KPOS Scout?
The KPSOS Scout is a conversion kit to transform your Glock into an SBR by inserting your Glock into the 6061 T6 aluminum upper frame and the lightweight polymer lower frame. It’s built with a 1913 MIL-Spec Picatinny rail to allow any compatible optic or scope your heart desires. The KPOS features a one-button assembly design in the polymer lower frame for a quick and easy conversion without any tools for the Glock 17 &19.
What is The KPOS Scout Advanced?
The KPOS Scout comes in 2 different models with very minimal differences between the two. To make things easier for you, I put them in a table to easily recognize the differences. As you can see you’ll receive a carry bag that will fit your KPOS Scout to keep it concealed. It also features a set of Polymer Back-up sights to ensure you’re able to accurately fire if your scope or optics fail.

Glock 17
It’s not hyperbole to suggest that the Glock 17 changed how the world views striker-fired pistols. This gun was specifically designed for law enforcement officers and military soldiers who needed a pistol that could be accurate for follow-up shots, incredibly durable, and most importantly, reliable under any environmental condition they face. Many consider the Glock 17 as the O.G. of striker-fired pistols. The KPOS Scout Conversion Kit will fit all Glock models on this list between Gen 3- Gen 5. This blog isn’t intended to be a full review of any of the Glocks. We are adding them to the blog to give you a better understanding of the overall weight, capacity, trigger pull that will impact your SBR. One thing to consider with the KPOS Scout is the only thing that is going to change is between Glock models is the weight.

Glock 19
The Glock 19 is one of the most recognizable pistols in the world with millions sold all across the planet. The first-ever Glock 19 I shot was a Gen 4 that my friend let me shoot at the range. I went out and bought one the following week and I’ve owned it for about 7 years now. I’ve put at least 3,000 rounds through it and I have never had a problem with misfires or malfunctions. If you’re interested in reading a full review of the Glock 19, read our blog, ” Glock 19 |Review”. Adding the KPOS Scout to your Glock 19 will force you to register the weapon as an SBR with the ATF. However, it will improve your capabilities from short-range (20-30 yards accurately) to mid-range shooting (30-50 yards) easily without sacrificing

Glock 22
The Glock 22 is chambered in the .40 S&W bullet, accompanied with a 6.29 lbs. force trigger pull. Personally, I am not a fan of a .40 caliber pistol because I just don’t shoot them as accurate as a 9mm, .45 Auto, 10mm, or .357 Sig. However, with the addition of the KPOS Scout, it becomes much more intriguing for me to buy. With more stability from the buttstock and foregrip, the .40 caliber bullet won’t cause as much recoil. The KPOS Scout will also allow you to add optics and scopes for more precision and downrange accuracy.

Glock 23 Gen 4
The Glock 23 Gen 4 is almost identical to the Glock 19 Gen 4 with the biggest difference being the Glock 23 shoots a .40 caliber bullet versus the 9mm of the Glock 19. The .40 caliber is going to give you more power and range than the Glock 19 with the same feel of the 19. Adding the KPOS Scout is just going to give you more control and capability than you’ll ever get with a .40 S&W without the addition of a buttstock and foregrip.

Glock 31
The Glock 31 is built specifically for law enforcement with the .357 Sig chamber. If you’ve read our Glock 31 blog, titled “Glock 31 VS. Glock 32| Definitive Guide To Glock’s .357 SIG”, you know the reasoning behind using the .357 Sig. For me, I like the velocity of a .357 Sig, but I don’t like how expensive the ammo can be, especially during this pandemic. However, the KPOS Scout increases the accuracy at further ranges than you’d ever get with just a handgun. The velocity of the .357 Sig is going to give your SBR so much more capability and accuracy.

Glock 32
The Glock 32 is going to be almost the same as the Glock 31, but the biggest difference between the 2 guns is the overall length and the shorter trigger distance of the Glock 32. Once the KPOS Scout is added to the Glock, the trigger distance is going to be noticeably different from the Glock 31. The reason I like the Glock 32 in the KPOS is the recoil for the Glock 32 is very high relative to most other Glock pistols. The addition of the KPOS Scout will allow you to absorb most of that felt-recoil and really take advantage of the higher velocity and range of the .357 Sig.

Glock 45
The Glock 45 is one of my favorite blogs because they took the best features from both the Glock 17 and Glock 19 and combined them into the Glock 45. For example, The Glock 45 features the thinner slide of the Glock 19 and the larger frame of the Glock 17. Most shooters with larger hands prefer the Glock 45 for these reasons more than the Glock 19 or 17. However, the Glock 45 slides into the frame of the KPOS Scout, so the width of the slide and the overall length of the pistol doesn’t really matter. However, the larger grip of the Glock 17 is going to make a difference in the ergonomics and overall feel of the gun.
