Customizing your pistol is important to many gun owners because everyone has different hand sizes, vision, ability, and training levels. Personally, Every handgun I own, except for my Glock 43 has a laser sight on it. There are 3 kinds of people that buy lasers for their pistols; competition shooters, owners that want to look cool (no judgment), and shooters who want to gain an advantage in target acquisition.

I’d like to think I’m the one that wants to gain an advantage with the split second that a laser can give you over an assailant who doesn’t have a laser. I try to keep my laser attachments light and small to ensure I can still holster my gun without modifying my holster to fit a bulkier gun. These laser sights that I list below, meet the requirements for what I look for in laser.

Lasercross CL105 New Magnetic Charging Internal Green Laser Sight

The Lasercross CL105 is a combination laser and flashlight that will fit on any pistol or rifle with a 20mm wide Picatinny rail system. I have used this laser with my Glock 19 because it’s a full-sized pistol that allows no interference in my holster. This laser is exceptionally bright and is ambidextrous to accommodate both left and right-handed shooters.

I love the ability to use a flashlight and laser at the same time without having to add 2 separate products. Personally, in a self-defense situation, I’d use my flashlight and laser in conjunction with each other to be more effective. By using this Lasercross flashlight, you can distort the vision of your assailant while providing a clear sight picture of your intended target. The green laser will ensure your bullet goes exactly where it’s aimed (given proper mechanics).

Pros

  • Durable
  • You can charge your laser sight without removing it from your pistol
  • Allows you to holster your pistol with any catch
  • Works great with most pistols and any rifle size.
  • A strong battery life for all 3 modes

Cons

  • It’s not waterproof or fog proof
  • 220 lumens for a flashlight is good up to 60 yards

HiLight P5GL 400lm Strobe Flashlight Green Laser Sight Combo

The HiLight P5GL 400 lumen laser sight is one of my favorite attachments to place on my subcompact guns (Glock 26) because it’s incredibly light and only 2.5″ long. This allows me to holster my concealed carry pistol without any catch. The height of the laser sight is kind of high, but it shouldn’t impact your holster or your ability to attach it because it only needs 1.3″ of clearance.

The HiLight is also much better in the elements than a lot of sights because it’s waterproof and extremely durable. The fact that the HiLight Laser only weighs 2 oz is just the icing on the cake for me. The last thing you want when you buy a lighter gun is to add a heavy attachment. This laser sight allows you to keep the integrity of your pistol the same while adding an advantage on target acquisition.

Pros

      • Durable
      • You can charge your laser sight without removing it from your pistol
      • Allows you to holster your pistol with any catch
      • Works great with most pistols and any rifle size.
      • Half the weight of the Lasercross makes this as light as a feather
      • 400 lumens for the flashlight gives you 100 yards of visibility
      • Waterproof and fog proof
      • Lifetime Warranty

Cons

    • Battery life for the light is really low

Sniper TPO GL03 Magnetic Charging Green Laser Sight Flashlight Combo

The Sniper TPO GLO3 laser sight and flashlight combo is the 2nd lightest laser sight in this blog and is tied with the highest laser wavelength of any other model. The reason I like this laser sight so much is the weight and the battery life. There is no other laser sight that I’ve seen or reviewed that has a 9-hour laser battery and still can give you 1 1/2 hours of light and laser time.

This is crucial for those who need a laser for operational missions in the military or in Border Patrol. The Sniper TPO allows you to reach out to more than 300 yards in low light with a brighter and more stable beam than most other products. This laser and light combo is only 1.8″ long and fits perfectly on any pistol you could possibly carry, from a Glock 19 and Glock 26 to a Walther P99.

Pros

      • Durable
      • Allows you to holster your pistol with any catch
      • Works great with most pistols and any rifle size.
      • Incredibly lightweight
      • Laser range is between 100-330 yards
      • Waterproof and fog proof
      • Lifetime Warranty
      • Incredible battery life

Cons

    • Some customers have had problems with losing their zero after putting a hundred rounds through their pistols

Laspur Sub Compact Tactical Rail Mount Low Profile Laser Sight

The Laspur Sub-Compact laser sight is great for those who don’t want a flashlight combo added to their pistol. I chose this laser sight because it’s incredibly light, fits on an M1913 Picatinny Rail & Weaver Rail system, and fits perfectly in any holster I’ve ever owned. I’ve found that this laser is shock-proof for at least 100 rounds and keeps my zero in the same position.

The Laspur works best for full-sized pistols, shotguns, and rifles because it’s much longer than most other models I’ve reviewed here today. You’ll need at least 1.46″ of clearance between the rail groove on your gun and the trigger guard. This makes it difficult to use on subcompact pistols like the Glock 43x because it changed the dynamic of having such a small concealed pistol.

Pros

      • Durable
      • You can charge your laser sight without removing it from your pistol
      • Allows you to holster your pistol with any catch
      • Works great with most pistols and any rifle size.
      • Waterproof and fog proof
      • Shock-proof

Cons

    • Battery life is much lower than most other laser attachments in this blog
    • Longer than it should be for a stand-alone laser attachment

Firefly V2 Flashlight Laser Sight

Firefly is one of my favorite companies to support because they are owned and operated by a combat veteran who has extensive experience with lasers and flashlight attachments. The Firefly V2 is the lightest, shortest, and most universal attachment we have on this list.

The Firefly V2 boasts the highest overall laser wavelength of any other laser we’ve seen and has 6-adjustable settings. Using the Strobe setting along with the laser will disorient your target and provide a clear laser beam for quick and easy target acquisition.

Pros

  • Durable
  • You can charge your laser sight without removing it from your pistol
  • Allows you to holster your pistol with any catch
  • Works great any firearm you can think of (as long as it has a rail system)
  • Waterproof and fog proof
  • Lifetime Warranty
  • Disorienting strobe is an incredible tool to use

Cons

  • Battery life is much lower due to the intensity of the laser beam and flashlight

Infilight Compact Red Laser Dot Sight

The Infilight compact red laser is one of my favorite lasers because, for whatever reason, I see red lasers better than I see green lasers in low light( I’m color blind with green and yellow). Infilight is relatively priced well and fits perfectly on any firearm you could ever want to attach it to.

My favorite aspect of this laser is its ability to absorb the recoil and vibration of the firearm operation (Shock-proof). I’ve put hundreds of rounds through my Glock 19 using this laser and never had to tighten or adjust the attachment to maintain a proper zero. Personally, I would rather buy the Firefly for $20 more, but if you’re looking for a good-quality red laser, this is a great option for you.

Pros

      • Durable
      • You can charge your laser sight without removing it from your pistol
      • Allows you to holster your pistol with any catch
      • Works great with most pistols and any rifle size.
      • Red Laser allows you to reach further with your laser beam than most other green lasers
      • Waterproof and fog proof
      • Lifetime Warranty

Cons

    • Battery life is much lower than most other laser attachments in this blog
    • Although it’s smaller and lighter than most, it’s relatively heavy for a stand-alone laser

Crimson Trace CMR-206 Rail Master Universal Green Laser Sight

Crimson Trace is one of my favorite companies to buy from because their products always seem to be better than any other company I’ve tried (With a higher price point too). The Crimson Trace CMR-206 laser sight even feels different than most others and has the most secure locking system I’ve experienced.

They call it the Secure Locking Technology© (SLT) and it keeps your zero better than any other product for longer than any other product. I was unable to find accurate dimensions anywhere online, but I know this product fits on my compact pistol and my full-sized pistols with no problem.

Pros

Cons

    • Battery life is much lower than most other laser attachments
    • For a stand-alone laser sight, the CMR is relatively heavy
