Top 5 Shotguns for Christmas

Palmetto State has slowly been rolling out more products online as Christmas shopping ramps up. Today, they released dozens of items at a discount as part of their Christmas sale. As many of our readers have seen lately, we’ve written a lot lately about the deals and new products from PSA. Most products are overpriced all over the internet due to supply and demand. However, I believe this Christmas sale is about as good as it’s going to get for a year or so before things get close to normal in society.

Panzer Arms AR-12

The Panzer AR-12 shotgun is designed to be as close to an AR-15 as possible with shotgun shells instead of 5.56mm bullets. This 12 ga shotgun is a magazine-fed, air-cooled, gas-operated firearm with a weight of only 6.5 lbs. It has a detachable and adjustable front and rear sight to easily install any type of optic or scope compatible with a standard Picatinny. rail system (I don’t know any company that won’t fit on the rail). I love the manual safety, much like an M4 because it makes me feel more comfortable and confident as I hike into the woods. The Bronze Cerakote finish on the shotgun is absolutely beautiful and will get the attention of every hunter or shooter you come across. 

Stevens 301 Turkey Obsession 

The Stevens Model 301 Turkey Obsession shotgun is the most affordable shotgun that I’ve seen online to-date. At $199.99, this shotgun isn’t filled with the bells and whistles of a Benelli or Typhoon Defense, but it’s good enough to get the job done. The 301 shots a single 3″ magnum shell before having to reload, but the longer 26″ barrel ensures accuracy at 40-50 yards easily. Chambered in a 20 gauge, the Stevens 301 is meant to make that one shot count as much as possible with zero felt-recoil. 

When turkey hunting it’s important to know and understand your shotgun before taking it into the field. For a beginner, I’d recommend this shotgun because you’re not going to find a working brand new shotgun that’s capable of hunting turkey for less than $200. Chambered for a 3″ 20 gauge shell, you’ll be given more pellets for an increased chance of harvesting a bird. A 20 gauge also has very little if any felt-recoil.  

Typhoon Defense F12

The Typhoon Defense F12 is one of the best magazine-fed shotguns on the market with Benelli Mobile Choke Threads for optimal versatility and application. The Typhoon is built with flip-up sights to be able to add an optic to the Picatinny Rail On Top and still run either iron sights or optic. On the bottom side of the handguard, the Typhoon F12 is built with MLOK attachment slots to add to the versatility and application. 

It’s funny how much I like QD inserts cups, considering how useless I thought they were. The F12 has QD inserts on both sides of the stock and one upfront on the bottom of the frame. They’re so easy and smooth to use that it really does make a difference in your overall comfort and tactical ability. The flat blade trigger breaks as smooth as it looks with zero creep and almost no let-up during the pull. The F12 comes with 3 steel 5-shell magazine and shoots 3″ magnum shells. At 8.6 lbs. this shotgun is a little heavy but a sling attached to the shotgun should help you carry the weight with little problem.

The Standard MFG double-barrel shotgun is the most unique shotgun that you’ll find outside a Kel-Tech shotgun. The stock is a synthetic fixed stock featuring a rubber recoil pad with a dual spring shock-absorbing recoil mechanism. This pump shotgun is so fun to shoot that you’ll love taking it to the range to shoot or a perfect self-defense shotgun for your home. The top of the shotgun is fitted with a Picatinny rail that extends 3/4 way on the top for incredible versatility in optics or scopes.
