Taurus GX4 Night Sights From XS Sights

The first update I make to almost any handgun that I purchase is to upgrade the sights. The sights I’m running on my handguns are XS Sights Big Dots. Both the front and rear have tritium inserts for low-light engagements.

The XS Big Dots are great for close engagements (15 yards or less). All you do is "dot the I" and pull the trigger. Wherever you place the large front sight dot is where your round will impact, providing you have a proper grip and trigger control.

You can also use the XS Big Dots out past 15 yards. For 15 yards and out, instead of placing the big dot on where you want to hit, you place the top edge of the dot where you want the rounds to impact.

These sights have been proven accurate out to 100 yards in the right hands. With a little practice, you should have no issues accurately engaging targets out to 25 yards.

XS Sights For The Taurus GX4

XS Sights will be offering nearly their full lineup that they have offered to match with every other micro-compact 9mm pistol currently on the market including the DXT2 Big Dot, R3D, Minimalist, and the DXW2.

All of their sights will be backed by a 10-year no-questions-asked warranty as well as XS’s 30-day satisfaction guarantee. All of the sights released for the Taurus GX4 will also be compatible with the Taurus G3c if you still happen to be running one of those.

From XS Sights

XS sights give shooters an advantage 24/7 thanks to the company’s proprietary sight technology. XS’s photoluminescent Glow Dot surrounds the tritium vial in the front sight and activates even before the tritium does, giving defensive shooters an edge in any light, day or night.

DXT2 Big Dot

The Big Dot leads the industry in size and has a self-illuminating tritium center surrounded by XS’s photoluminescent Glow Dot technology which drives focus to the front sight. The Big Dot is available in Optic Yellow or Optic Orange.

The DXT2 Standard Dot is available in Green. All DXT2 sights feature a V-notch rear with a vertical tritium stripe, creating a dot-the-"i" sight picture and eliminating the possibility of confusing the front and rear sights in high-stress situations.

R3D

The R3D has a traditional 3-dot tritium, notch, and post sight picture. The rear sight is blacked out to increase contrast against the front sight which is available in bright Orange or Green. The brightly colored Glow Dot in the front sight is a much brighter color which differentiates the front tritium dot from the two rear tritium dots.

Minimalist

The minimalist has a self-illuminating tritium vial in the front sight surrounded by an Orange photoluminescent Glow Dot and blacked-out, serrated, non-tritium rear sight.

DXW2

DXW2 tritium night sights are available with a Big Dot (Orange or Yellow) or Standard Dot (Green) front sight with a white stripe, non-tritium rear sight. The white stripe offers superior visibility of the vertical bar, which aids in sight alignment in bright light settings and performs well in low light.

The increased surface area of the white stripe also enhances visibility for shooters with farsighted vision issues.

In Conclusion

Each of the above options varies in price but the least expensive option would be the R3D Night Sights which feature a standard 3-dot configuration with a large glow dot front sight, which starts at $59.99.

Other options including the GXT2 Big Dot can go for as much as $132.00 depending on the options selected. More information can be found at xssights.com.
