There is no company in the world that is set to profit from the Coronavirus more than Jeff Besos and Amazon. As every brick and mortar business shuts down amid this crisis, Amazon is hiring around 100,000 new workers. They are also offering their employees an extra $2/hour raise until the end of April as an incentive to reach the workforce goal needed to meet the needs of their consumers. The demand for products such as hand sanitizer, toilet paper, and masks has reached a point where nobody has enough.  Amazon faces many problems with having 50% of all sales coming from 3rd party sellers. These sellers are not operating with integrity or ethics and feel it’s right under our capitalistic economy. We are here to give you the best information on what you need and what to avoid, so read as much as you can and wash your hands as often as possible.

Popular Items on Amazon for COID-19

As we look into what most people are buying from Amazon, it becomes clear that people are not really listening to the Center for Disease Control (CDC). Please read through the Corona Virus response page set up by the CDC so you know what to buy and what will make about as much of a difference as these “cures” passed out by Alex Jones. For example, surgical masks that don’t seal and offer a ventilator will not prevent you from getting the Corona Virus. One way to get good information without falling asleep is to watch the JRE episode above. Some popular items, such as canned goods, tissue paper, and toilet paper are out of stock completely or are so highly marked up that I don’t want to give attention to them.

Most Popular Items on Amazon in Response to COVID-19
Baby Formula
Hand Sanitizer
Rubbing Alcohol
Diapers
Toilet paperThere is no toilet paper on Amazon that is not being priced gouged like we’re in an apocalypse.
Surgical Masks
Bleach
Lysol Disinfectant
Baby Wipes
Medical gloves
Powdered MilkCanned goods and powdered milk are exceptionally price gouged, but this is as close as I can get to a legitimate price.

Price Gouging

Since more than 50% of all Amazon sales are sold by 3rd-party sellers, Amazon is having to deal with less than reputable businesses that want to profit from this pandemic (COVID-19). Amazon has taken steps to stop their partners from price gouging, but it’s had little effect, even with Amazon removing over a million products so far. Below are the most searched items that I could find that are being priced gouged as much as 1200% over market value! I take a great deal of pleasure exposing corruption and the greed of dishonest companies. Amazon is doing a great job of getting rid of these price-gouging companies, but they’re unable to get them all unless we help them expose the truth.

MMM8210PLUS – 3M 8210PLUS N95 Particulate Respirator

This respirator is approved by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) to filter out 95% of all non-oil based particulates. 3M Particulate Respirator 8210, N95 is a disposable respirator that is designed to filter out particulates from grinding, sanding, sweeping, sawing, bagging, or other dust.  The N95 normally has to be fitted by someone who knows how to get a proper seal, but it is one of the only masks that protect you against airborne viruses, like COVID-19. This mask is being bought by the dozens on Amazon and it’s being overcharged by more than 1,250% versus the same mask at Home Depot.  On Amazon, one mask will cost you $13.90 and the same mask at Home Depot is 21.90 for 20. At some point, Amazon will see this product and get rid of it, like it’s done with millions of other products, but that doesn’t mean they can catch them all. Please be careful when you shop on Amazon and prepare by doing research on what other stores are charging for the same product.

MedPride Powder-Free Nitrile Exam Gloves

As with anything on Amazon, you have to be careful of the seller because you could end up paying $40 more for this exact same box of gloves from HLmedical. These gloves are great for protecting you against germs and have no powder residue that’s going to cake on your hands when they sweat. MedPride is an honest company, but when 3rd party sellers see a chance to make more money, they’re going to do it, regardless of ethics. You can find this same product from a different seller on Amazon for $32 less and you get the more accomodating size of medium. Personally, I don’t think gloves are worth it right if you simply wash your hands as much as humanly possible and don’t touch your face, eyes, nose, ears, or mouth without washing your hands. However, if you want these gloves, go with the one for $86.30 because that’s way more accurate than $118 from HLmedical.

That’s a markup of 150% from one seller to another on the same Amazon site.

What Should You Buy To Prepare For The CoronaVirus?

In preparing for the Coronavirus the only authority you should listen to is the CDC if you want the most accurate info. There are a lot of things that people are buying and trying to prepare for, but millions of Americans are wasting their hard-earned money on pointless supplies. I have a complete list of supplies that I’ve stocked up on based on the recommendations of the CDC. The important thing to consider with this virus is to CALM DOWN and focus on your personal hygiene by washing your hands, showering every day, cleaning your home, and avoiding crowds of more than 10 people. As far as supplies go, only get what you need for up to 2 months (if possible) and avoid high carb foods because you’ll just get hungry more often. I recommend food high in fiber, such as beans and veggies to keep your body normal and promote digestive health. Foods high in fat and protein are going to offer you the best bang for your buck because they’re heavier in your gut and keep you satiated longer. This is incredibly important because this means you don’t have to go out of your home as often.

My List of Goods To Buy For Corona Virus
BleachBleach is going to kill any virus or germ laying in your home with the most certainty. Since we’re supposed to spend at least a month inside, I suggest cleaning your home with bleach every few days (depending on your family size). The best thing about bleach is you don’t need a bunch of it to get the job done. These 2 bottles should last you well over a month if you use it as directed.
Rubbing AlcoholThe CDC recommends using rubbing alcohol higher than 60% alcohol to kill this virus and other viruses that will undoubtedly be lingering around your home. This spray bottle is perfect to disinfect your dining room table, kitchen counters, fridge, freezer, doorknobs, car,  keys, and anything else that you can come into contact with.
TissuesAs I’ve said before most tissue boxes are sold out all over the country, but Amazon will update their store every day, so check-in as often as you can. Tissues are very important for preventing the spread of COVID-19 because you can prevent your cough or sneeze from infecting the world. Remember, every time you cough or sneeze into your tissue, you need to use hand sanitizer or wash your hands for at least 20 seconds.
N 95 Surgical MaskPersonally, I won’t wear a mask unless I feel sick, but it’s a good idea to get one just in case you do start feeling the symptoms of Corona. As Dr. Osterholm explains in the JRE Podcast, wearing masks won’t really protect you from Corona unless from a cough or sneeze. This virus can stay on anything from clothes to all the surfaces you touch, so a mask isn’t going to do much by itself.
Canned GoodsAlmost all of the canned goods are overpriced (including this one), but as unethical as it is to do in an international pandemic, businesses care about their bottom line more than your family. I love this soup because it will keep you full for longer than other soups that are high in carbs and low in protein.
Hand SanitizerMost hand sanitizer is sold out everywhere, but as long as you make sure it’s above 60% alcohol, it will get the job done. Luckily, I bought mine a couple weeks ago when I started to worry about it.
TylenolNormally, I’d say Tylenol sucks, but for a virus that spikes your body temp to a dangerous level of over 100 degrees, Tylenol will reduce your fever. I recommend Tylenol not just for your fever, but it’s often much softer on your stomach during turmoil.
TherafluIn my opinion, Theraflu is the best over the counter medication you could get for the flu. You’re going to need something strong enough to bring your fever down and keep you sleeping, so your body can recover.
Saline Nasal SprayMany of you are probably thinking, why would I worry about saline when it’s not a medicine? I use the saline spray every day to drain my sinuses to ensure that if I picked up any germs, they would be washed out every day. The Coronavirus can live in your body for up to 2 weeks without showing symptoms, so if you wash your sinuses out every day, you’ll have a better chance to avoid catching the virus while you’re around other people.
Dried FruitDried fruit is a great way to get the nutrients you need without worrying about an expiration date.
Vitamin CThere is no time like now to improve your immune system. As we are inside the house and more sedentary, our immune systems could get a little compromised from the lack of activity. Take Vitamin C every day to ensure your immune system is strong enough to fight this virus.
Vitamin DSince we’re not spending as much time in the sun as we need (technically 15 minutes on your head and hands), Vitamin D will ensure you’re skin and mind are healthy for the upcoming fight against this virus.
